Provisional and Permanent

Temporary and Permanent Skills in Cordis - Mortals and Legends In Cordis - Mortals and Legends, player skill progression is enhanced through a dual skill system: temporary and permanent. This innovative mechanism provides a balance between quick gains and long-term progress, ensuring an engaging and strategic gaming experience.

Temporary Skill

Temporary skills offer immediate, short-term improvements to players' abilities, essential for optimizing performance in daily activities and non-combat professions.

  • Immediate Improvement: Provides skill boosts such as increased damage, reduced cooldown times, higher success rates, and greater efficiency in activities like fishing, mining, and crafting. These improvements apply to all professions.

  • Temporariness: Temporary skill is short-lived and can be lost if the player remains inactive. After 24 hours of inactivity, the accumulated temporary skill starts to decay, and after 48 hours, all temporary skill is lost.

  • Conversion to Permanent: Each time the player gains temporary skill, 10% of that value is transferred to permanent skill, allowing temporary improvements to contribute to long-term development.

Permanent Skill

Permanent skill represents the lasting mastery of the player's abilities, essential for class advancement and unlocking new skills.

  • Class Development: Increasing permanent skill is necessary to improve the player's class and unlock new abilities. This is gradually acquired through the conversion of temporary skill.

  • Durability: Once earned, permanent skill is not lost, ensuring that significant player progress is preserved.

  • Sustained Specialization: Focusing on gaining permanent skill allows the player to deeply develop their abilities and class, unlocking new and powerful capabilities.

Progression Strategy

The temporary and permanent skill system encourages a balance between quick gains and sustained development.

  • Continuous Evolution: Players are encouraged to regularly use their skills to maximize temporary skill and, consequently, the conversion to permanent skill.

  • Inactivity Management: Well-furnished houses extend the time a player can be inactive without losing temporary skill, from 24 hours to up to 5 days, depending on the furnishings.

Additional Benefits

  • Non-Combat Professions: Skills in professions like fishing, alchemy, and building utilize this skill system, providing a rich and diverse gameplay experience.

  • Stress Impact: If a player (avatar) becomes stressed due to excessive gameplay (12 hours or more in a row), they will not gain skill and will begin losing temporary skill in the ability they are training. The avatar will require a 2-hour rest. Consuming a special drink can reduce the rest time by 1 hour.

Cordis - Mortals and Legends offers a rich and strategic progression experience, where every action contributes to the continuous and sustainable development of the character.
