Character Stress System in Cordis

Introduction of the Stress Mechanic: To ensure that players maintain a healthy balance between gameplay and rest, Cordis will implement a stress mechanic for characters. This mechanic aims to simulate real-life needs for rest and recovery, encouraging regular breaks and more mindful gaming.

How the Stress Bar Works:

  • Continuous Playtime: After 12 consecutive hours of gameplay, the character’s stress bar will begin to fill.

Effects of Stress:

  • Skill Disruption: The character will be unable to level up any skills while stressed.

  • Experience Loss: Active skills will begin to lose experience, reflecting the inefficiency caused by excessive stress.

Recovery Options:

  • Natural Rest:

    • 1 Hour Rest: Recovers 50% of the stress bar.

    • 2 Hour Rest: Recovers 100% of the stress bar.

  • Item Consumption:

    • Energy Drinks: Available in taverns and crafted by alchemists, both players and NPCs. Consuming an energy drink instantly recovers 50% of the stress bar.

    • Special Foods: Freshly prepared foods that boost the character’s mood, recovering 50% of the stress bar.

    • Note: Drinks or special foods can only be consumed once every 12 hours.

  • Use of Structures:

    • Inns: Players can rest at inns to recover their stress bar.

    • Houses: Resting in your own in-game house also recovers the stress bar.

    • Houses or inns accelerate recovery by 100%, cutting the total recovery time of the stress bar in half.

Objective of the Mechanic: This mechanic is designed to encourage players to take regular breaks, promoting a healthy and balanced playstyle. Additionally, it adds a layer of realism and strategy, where managing the character's stress becomes a crucial part of the gameplay experience.

Note: This mechanic serves as a reminder and not as a solution.
